Luigi LoCascio is a MFA student in Technical Direction at Northern Illinois University. He double majored in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Theatre at the University of Buffalo. Luigi plans to become an automation designer for live entertainment.
He has experience with structural analysis, 3D printing, Arduinos, CAD, carpentry, metal machining, automotive repair, and woodworking.
Luigi has worked with IATSE Local 10 as a stagehand and was a carpenter with Shakespeare in Delaware Park for their 49th and 50th season.
He is also a cheerleader at NIU and was at UB.
In the summer of 2023, Luigi did a study abroad at Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt), where he studied automotive engineering.
Darmstadt is located half an hour south of Frankfurt by train.
He also visited his family in Oberstdorf, Germany.
The study abroad program was 77 days long, but Luigi delayed his return flight and stayed in Europe for 89 days.
During his trip, Luigi played the Marble Machine X and helped prototype the Marble Machine 3 live at the Wintergatan meetup in Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany.
He toured Germany and visited Austria, Belgium, Czechia, France, and Switzerland.
